WDFW posts 40 tentative coastal razor-clam dig days starting Oct. 9

Washington’s coastal razor-clam calendar is on the board. The Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Sept. 10 news release lists 40 tentative dig days from Oct. 9 through Dec. 27 at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis, and Mocrocks — evening low tides, not dawn series. Nothing opens until the Washington State Department of Health clears marine toxins: two samples seven to ten days apart, with domoic acid under the guideline.

Daily limit is 15, and the first 15 clams you dig stay in the bucket — small, broken, or otherwise. Copalis and Mocrocks showed weaker summer assessments, so those beaches get fewer days; Long Beach and Twin Harbors remain the workhorses. Kalaloch stays closed on depressed harvestable stocks.

Age 16 and older needs a 2026–27 license. Beach driving is 25 mph on hard-packed sand near the high-tide line, designated access only. Budget cuts could delay openings or trim days. Do not treat this brief as a tide table — the full date-by-date list is in the WDFW release.
