TWRA’s Sept. 7 sheet: Tellico, Tims Ford, and the tailwaters got trout
Tennessee’s hatchery trucks did not take September off. TWRA’s trout-stocking report — last updated Sept. 7, 2026 — lists adult brook, brown, or rainbow deliveries on Tellico River (Sept. 1 and Sept. 4) and Tims Ford tailwater / Elk River (Sept. 3). The same bi-weekly sheet also carries recent plants on Dale Hollow, Wilbur, Center Hill (Caney Fork), Fort Patrick Henry, South Holston, Norris, West Prong Little Pigeon at Gatlinburg, Buffalo Creek, Leconte Creek, and Fort Campbell waters.
The 2026 schedule page still shows September “week of” dates running through the 27th. TWRA warns those Sunday week-of dates are targets: the truck can come any of the five days after, or slip if weather or warm water gets in the way. South Holston tailwater is on the books through September; Caney Fork, Dale Hollow, Wilbur / Watauga, and Tims Ford stay on longer calendars.
Call TVA at 1-800-238-2264 before you wade a generation tailwater, and confirm the live TWRA table the morning you drive. Statewide or special-reg trout limits apply by water.
