South Carolina DNR stocks 2,184 trout on the Saludas the week of Sept. 4
Upstate South Carolina got a September trout dump. SCDNR’s weekly stocking summary for Sept. 4–10, 2026, lists 2,184 trout. Friday, Sept. 4, was the Big Eastatoee River; Thursday, Sept. 10, was the North, Middle, and South Saluda rivers.
The prior week (Aug. 28–Sept. 3) added 768 trout, including the Chauga River and Brasstown Creek on Sept. 1. The Lower Saluda is a winter program — first plant typically the second or third week of December — so this sheet is the mountain rivers, not Lake Murray tailwater.
Confirm current Region 1 trout gear and bag rules before you keep fish. Region 1 questions: Dan Rankin, 864-986-6246.
