Pennsylvania extended trout season opened Sept. 8 on stocked waters

Pennsylvania’s regular trout season ended Sept. 7. The extended season on designated stocked trout waters opened Sept. 8, 2026, and runs through Dec. 31. PFBC’s 2026 Fishing Summary sets that window at three trout (combined species), seven-inch minimum — tighter than the five-fish regular-season bag.

The September/October 2026 Pennsylvania Angler & Boater flags the same Sept. 8 start on the cover. Waters not managed as stocked trout waters are a different rule set (often catch-and-release). Class A wild trout streams stay fishable, but harvest rules flip after Labor Day — read the water’s designation, not just the date.
