ODFW sets four October meetings on 2027 bottomfish and Pacific halibut

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is taking 2027 recreational bottomfish and Pacific halibut seasons to four public meetings Oct. 5–8, 2026, each 6–8 p.m. Staff will recap how the 2026 bottomfish fishery played out, then talk bag limits and season structure for 2027. On the table: whether limited yelloweye rockfish retention can return now that the National Marine Fisheries Service has declared the stock rebuilt.

Halibut discussion will run the proposals coming out of the September Pacific Fishery Management Council meeting for further public review. ODFW says meeting materials will be posted on the recreational bottomfish and Pacific halibut webpages by Friday, Oct. 2.
