Lake Taneycomo Sept. 1: pink worms working, dam injecting oxygen

Branson’s tailwater is a normal September, not a crisis. Lilleys’ Landing’s Sept. 1 report had Table Rock generation on a familiar August pattern — minimum flow from about 7 a.m. into the afternoon, then up to 135 megawatts (2.5 units) into the evening. Water was about 53°F. Dissolved oxygen had dropped, so dam operators were injecting liquid oxygen to keep D.O. above 4 ppm — “all normal and on schedule.”

Guides called the Berkley pink Power Worm under a float 4–5 feet the best rainbow producer from Fall Creek down-lake, especially before the sun clears the ridge. Dry-fly midges were starting in the trophy water; hoppers and ants should build. Browns are beginning to show for the fall spawn. Earlier summer had felt short of stocked rainbows up-lake; August fishing improved.

Missouri’s four trout parks stay on the daily March 1–Oct. 31 plant (fishing permit plus daily tag, four-trout limit). Confirm MDC zone rules and generation before you wade above Fall Creek.
