Lake Kaweah bass still produce at 12% capacity

Lake Kaweah is sitting at 12 percent of capacity, and Cope’s Tackle’s Sept. 11, 2026 report still calls last week decent. The split is wide: some anglers are catching and releasing more than 10 bass in a session, and others are getting skunked.

Morning is the reaction window — topwater, crankbaits, and jerkbaits until the water warms. After that, the shop says most boats switch to finesse plastics in 10–30 feet. A few bass are schooling around bait balls, and vertical spoons have picked up extra bites there.

Panfish and cats are in the mix too. Crappie are coming on small live minnows near submerged rocks; catfish are eating cut anchovies and dip bait. Confirm current CDFW reservoir rules and any launch restrictions at this water level before you trailer.
