Kentucky posts September trout trucks: Sept. 16 and Sept. 24

US FishingKentucky

Kentucky’s September trout calendar is on the website. Fish and Wildlife’s monthly sheet for 2026 lists Wednesday, Sept. 16: Paintsville Lake Tailwater (Johnson) 2,000; Casey Creek (Trigg) 1,000; Jennings Creek (Warren) 1,000; Trammell Creek (Allen) 1,000; Sulphur Springs (Simpson) 250. Thursday, Sept. 24: Roundstone Creek (Hart) 400 and Otter Creek at Fort Knox (Meade) 500.

Federal-property streams (Bark Camp, Cane, Chimney Top, and the rest of that list) and the Cumberland tailwater below Wolf Creek Dam are not announced in advance. A Sept. 3 shop report from Sharpe Fly called the Cumberland itself exceptional from Burkesville to the dam on hoppers, streamers, and nymphs — confirm generation before you wade.

Statewide trout bag is typically five unless the water is special-reg. Confirm the live monthly sheet the morning of the plant; trucks can slip a day.
