Arizona community lakes resume stockings after the June 25–Sept. 15 heat hiatus

US FishingArizona

Arizona’s valley community lakes go dark in summer heat. Game and Fish’s stocking-schedule page says there are no Community Fishing Program plants to those lower-elevation lakes and ponds between June 25 and Sept. 15. Phoenix, Tucson, Safford, Gila Bend, and Yuma sit in that window. Cooler upper-elevation community waters (Eagar, St. Johns, Show Low, Prescott Valley, Ash Fork) keep getting fish through the summer.

The dates on the statewide trout sheet are Mondays of the stocking week, not a guaranteed day. Fish can go in any day that week, and weather can slip a truck. Catchable trout from AZGFD hatcheries are the usual load once the hiatus ends.

Confirm the live community and spring/summer PDFs before you drive — Sept. 15 is the published resume, not a secret extra week. Statewide trout bag is four unless the water says otherwise.

This is a The Gillnet news desk summary, not a reprint.
