American Bass locks a Type A day at Diamond Valley Oct. 25

California Fishing

American Bass returns to Diamond Valley after its Sept. 12–13 Type A weekend already on the desk. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing-contests board lists an approved one-day Type A black bass permit for American Bass on Diamond Valley Lake on Oct. 25, 2026.

This is not the mid-September card. Type A covers black bass contests with more than 60 anglers; CDFW allows only one Type A per water per day and caps those events at three days. That Sunday sits on the same weekend as Yak-A-Bass’s Berryessa Type A (Oct. 24–25) — different water, same late-October trail traffic.

Recreational boats at Diamond Valley that Sunday should plan around tournament launches. Confirm current black bass bag and size rules before keeping fish, and contact American Bass for entry.
